God Found Us You by Lisa Tawn Bergren

Little Fox wants Mama to tell him again how he came to be with her. She tells him that when he came home to her it made her the happiest mother in the world. She tells Little Fox that before he came she would dream of him and think about him all the time. Mama trusted that God would find Little Fox for her.

Little Fox asks why he didn’t stay with the mother who had him. Mama answered that she must have had very big reasons and thought this was best for him. Mama said she probably prayed like crazy that he would be safe and God answered both of their prayers. Mama waited a long time, but finally, Little Fox came. Mama will always be Little Fox’s mama, forever, no matter what and that makes her the happiest mama in the world.

This lovely book keeps God that the center of an adoption story while gently addressing some questions from an adoptive child.
